Opportunities:

Executive Assistant to Producer
You will be self-motivated and proactive. You will be expected to work independently away from SSP's office location. You will communicate with Producer effectively and regularly.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage the schedule of the President including appointments.
  • Handle confidential materials relevant to company business. Organize materials and data appropriately.
  • Produce high quality communications, oral and written, on behalf of the company. Manage confidential projects that may include researching, typing, compiling data and communicating with various artists and business individuals.
  • Aiding in the clerical areas of a production including weekly emails and phone calls, scheduling and confirming appointments. Working closely to the President and communicating with the entire production.

    Skills Required:

  • Good Telephone manner.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills using the English language.
  • Proficient in Micro Soft Word, Excel and Internet savvy.
  • Ability and desire to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to complete all assignments from start to finish.
  • Meeting deadlines.
  • You must have access to a computer and telephone.

    You must posses:

  • Office experience.
  • References upon request.

  • Costume Designer
    Responsibilities:

    Designing the look of the costumes in accordance with the vision of the show. Researching costumes (where applicable) Finding or making all costumes Developing & maintaining relationship with tailor(s) Measuring and fitting the Cast Maintenance of costumes during run (sewing buttons back on, ironing, etc.) Keeping all costumes properly documented and orderly.

  • Provide a costume plot and complete sketches or representations necessary for execution of costumes and to design, select or approve all accessories.
  • Supply color schemes/sketches or outline sketches with examples of materials for each costume including ornaments and detail.
  • Design, select or coordinate all contemporary costumes, including selections from the performer's personal wardrobe when necessary
  • Select appropriate costumes from stock, rental or other resources and coordinate their adaptation for the production.
  • Supply specifications for the shop to make, sew, construct/and or paint costumes and costume accessories.
  • Oversee the fittings and attend appropriate rehearsals.
  • Approve hairstyles and/or select of wigs, hairpieces, mustaches, beards, prosthetics and special make-up.
  • Supply specifications for competitive bids for costume shops or other suppliers mutually satisfactory to the Employer and the Costume Designer.
  • Render the above services in any future productions or revivals, produced or leased by the Employer subject to the then current United Scenic Artists rates and conditions applicable to each case subject to the designer's availability.


  • Wardrobe Supervisor
    Wardrobe Assistant

  • Discuss costumes and accessories with the production designer and director
  • Find or make the costumes and accessories to be worn
  • Alter costumes to fit actors
  • Clean and repair the costumes
  • May help actors put on difficult costumes
  • Work with the director to ensure costumes look as they are supposed to from one scene to the next (also called 'continuity')
  • Make sure the costumes look right on the stage under lights
  • May research costumes and the period they come from
  • May design costumes or accessories
  • May make patterns and cut them out.
  • May manage the costume budget in a production


  • Special Events/Fundraising Coordinator
    Responsibilities:

    Working under the guidance of the Producer, you will determine the goals (financial/promotional) and deadlines for each project. Research or brainstorm options for fundraising events. Select the event that best suits our budget/time constraints. Determine all of the requirements for the fundraiser: materials needed, licenses, volunteers, etc. Set up a checklist or work schedule to ensure everything is done, and on time. Select volunteers to help with the event, and schedule regular meetings with them for updates. Develop publicity or promotion campaign. Report on final results, thank everyone involved.

    Time Commitment:

    Varies depending on size of project from a few weeks to several months. Flex schedule.

    Training:

  • Background on previous fundraisers.
  • Outline of budget for the project, and all available resources.


    Assistant to the Director- Assisting the director of the production in all aspects of the creative process, including script details and staging decisions.

    Assistant(s) to Costume Designer - Aiding in the design process while helping to source fabrics, meet with tailors, attend fittings, and create concept boards. You will gain knowledge and valuable experience by building your network. Room for growth.

    Production Coordinator - Organizing details of the production including setting up board meetings and rehearsals, following up on projects, and maintaining communications among performers and board members. Room for growth.

    Production Assistants - Assisting in all areas of the production team and taking on individual assignments as well. Room for growth.

    Fundraising Coordinator - Bringing ideas of fundraising possibilities to the company while managing events, and following up on sponsorship opportunities.

    Publicist- Promote company to the best of your abilities. Interacting with potential sponsors while building and maintaining business relationships.

    MAKE UP Artists.

    Graphic Designer- You will work with ideas and concepts, and makes suggestions. You must be able to complete all assignments from start and meet deadlines. You will work on an overall graphic plan, a cohesive look" for our company and all products. You will be responsible for creating and utilizing images that can represent SSP 's mission. You will possess the know how to project our vision to potential clients and how they perceive SSP. You will be able to create business cards, signs, letterheads, packaging, and literature for brochures and website.
